The Growth of the Texas Aging Population

 

According to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2010 there were an estimated 3.7 million persons inmother_daughter.jpg Texas over the age of 60. This figure represents about 14% of the estimated 25 million Texans.

The 60 and older population in Texas is expected to increase by nearly 50 percent between 2010 and 2040, with a greater than 50 percent increase in those aged 85 and older by 2020.
